propane torch + hack saw + a lot of time. Burn the rubber out, cut the shell out, insert the ES busing.

When I first got mine, I took the LCA's to a shop to have the bushings pressed out. Waste of money, waste of time. My Dad has an old hot rod buddy who has a mechanical press at his garage so I'd thought I'd give that a try too. No chance. Not even close to enough pressure. Burn and cut is your best option.

burning and stuff is also the best way to warp the LCA. I used a 20 ton press to get mine out.

i pressed all mine out. I think it was like a 9 ton press i used. There are thin metal sleeves on the outside of the rubber. On the upper front control arms I pressed out the bushing and outer sleeve all in one. You have to line everything up perfect because you have so much pressure on that thing if it jerks and something flies out it will be like a bullet. On the rest of them I didn't have the gonads to put that much pressure on them so i used a socket just slightly smaller than the sleeve and actually pressed out the rubber so all that was left was that thin outer sleeve. I then would put it in a vice, used a hacksaw to cut a slit in the sleeve and then use a punch and hammer to hammer the sleeve out. Worked well.

To me using the press was the way to go, i wouldn't want to burn all of those out. It takes a while so be patient.

Also, make sure you searched the archives. I know there's tons on this topic.

A propane torch is not going to heat a cast piece of steel enough to warp it. Even if you could get it that hot with a small torch, you're not leaving heat on the area long enough to heat it signifigantly. The rubber is barely changing state.

Hey, if you've got access to a hydraulic press, then by all means, that's the right way to do it. I don't. I was charged $200 by a shop to press out the 6 bushings in the LCA's. I can't afford that kind of labor.
