What a good question, obviously one i've never heard before. Hmmm..... I would suggest a 3S-GTE like the one I put in my daily driver.

the only swaps for 97 civics are k-series. One with a d-series you have no power, Two, with a b-series you might get beat by a mustang and Three being K theres no question.
