Icon2 Engine Temperatures at the Intake Manifold

I'm researching composites to find a cheap material to machine intake manifold "spacers" from, and need some solid info on what temps the intake manifold typically sees. I vaguely recall seeing ~205 - 215 degrees when shootng the thermo-housing at idle with an IR temp gun, but I know that number climbs dramatically after some WOT pulls. Any ideas how high? My ECT was reading about 185 at idle, and up to 205 after some pulls, so maybe a 25 - 35 degree increase, or would it be more?

I've found a glass injected polycarbonate that holds its normal properties up to 315 degrees for long term use. Would this suffice, or should I find something rated higher?

No, they do not. But that wouldn't help me anyway because this is not primarily for insulating the manifold, but rather to adapt the ports of a different manifold to the head.

Actually I am, but I need a 4"x16" sheet of material that is between 3/8" and 1/2" thick. I having a difficult time finding something that can withstand the head, is easy to machine, and will cost me less than $50 for the small amount that I need.

i was thinking uhmw but it only goes up to about 200 unless you can find the stuff that can withstand up to 350, but its a special uhmw that i dont think will be very cost friendly.

we use uhmw within the blanchers at work, but they only get to about 220 degrees

Thanks again for the info. I just found a 12" x 24" sheet of grade XX Garolite for $28 at McMaster, rated up to 284 F. I think I'll give this a try.
