Engine swap today!! Come see the work in progress!!
We started at 11am today with a 94 B18C1 and a 93 VX. Check it out!
Now the help we need....
1) Where is the EGR valve? Trying to hook up the vaccum line to it.
2) How do you get around the radiator hose diameter issue? Using the stock civic radiator but the gsr hoses are too large.
Thats it for now... will be updated tomorrow!!!

your stock engine looks clean! clean ride though
Hatchy do you have a vx? If so tell me how you hooked up your O2 sensor. I've been running with out one for a year, 'cause the previous O2 I had five wires(wide band) and the ecu wont read it. Or can it? Your help would be greatly appreciated. Oh I forgot to mention, Damn thats a clean civic!

B18C's dont have EGR valves...........neither do SOHC D series civic engines.......
as for the rad hose.........make it fit???

But the VX engine had one ( I was there helping Hatchy do the swap). Should we just plug the vaccum hose that went to the EGR valve on the VX engine?

now that ive done it once though (and once we figure all the last connections out) I can see how it would be much faster if we did it again. The first time ALWAYS takes four times longer than it should.
hey man, i feel ur pain. i did my first real swap in my own car. took like 2 days of long hrs. now that ive done several swap and learned the ins and outs. it takes way less time. 96+ civics r the worst. ****** OBD2 wiring sux. have to pull out the whole harness from the drivers side to the passenger side. its not like 92-95, where u just unplug ****. my fastest by mysef was 1hr 45min for take out of my CX, and that was with the shift linkage still hooked up, ****** pin wouldnt come out.
Yup, we've renamed that pin The Beast 666. Luckily the pin on the hatch came out with ease. First time thats ever happened.
If anyone has info on how to rewire the stuff like the O2 sensor that would be good info to know.. Any help on this matter would be much apriciated
.. Its already wired for Vtec so dont have to do that! TIA

My air hammer makes easy work out of any of those stupid pins when they get one of those " I am champion complexes".
For the egr. Unplug and remove that black box with vaccum lines on the center of the firewall. Its trash. That takes care of that.
For the o2 wiring. There is a 5 or 7 wire plug at the strut tower. It has a white with red stripe wire. Its the signal for that you need. It is the same color all the way to the ecu. It needs to be moved to a different pin location. I cant remember which and dont have an obd1 book with me. I believe (correct me if Im wrong) that the other 3 wires you need are already in the right spot. They are o2 heater and the ground side for the o2 signal.
So if anyone knows the o2 signal pin location for obd1 these guys need it.

Replace it with a 6mm bolt in case you ever have to yank the engine again. Also, kudos on the clean engine bay. I wish I had cleaned mine that well

I've got the same problem with my o2 sensor. If someone knows for sure how to rewire the vx o2 sensor post it up. I'm thinking using a del sol vtec o2 sensor will work, but if the wiring to the ecu is wrong then it won't.
YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYY!!!!! sniff...my littele bro finally has a hybrid...sniff.
it's about fawkin time
