Engine swap between two car makers?
I was told that it was hard to do an engine swap between a Carbuerated engine and non carbeurated engine mostly because you've got to replace a lot of things in order to get everything to work. Now I'm wondering, what about doing an engine swap between a '93 corolla and a '93 Civic?
Well one possible reason for doing so would be for crash safety. It's not really too relevant, I'm just wondering about the swaps between different model of cars but both being fuel injected or both being carbuerated.

You're performing an engine swap for crash safety? I must be missing something.
What are your intentions with the car(s), and specifically, what are you trying to do?

Honestly, I think this is much more trouble than it's worth.

unsafe chasis huh? really, why do you and others say that? let me give you my side of the story
before http://www.flickr.com/photos/26439819@N03/2626270253/and after hitting a barrier at 50+ kinda sideways http://www.flickr.com/photos/26439819@N03/2626270063/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/26439819@N03/2626270211/ notice how the front end took the impact? all the other doors opened and closed perfectly and from the a pillar back the car was perfectly straight. i dont know about you but im glad the front end took the impact so i wouldnt have to!

pickup vs semi, ANY crash involving a larger car vs a smaller one will yeild the smaller one DESTROYED to some degree, if you're truely worried about an accident ride public transit...
Oh wait that might not work either -> CLICKY

Ok, so instead of discouraging me, how about some try to reason with me by giving examples of things I'd need to do. For all I know, all I need to do is bring everything that is associated and or in the engine bay of the car that is being swapped from. Basically I'd have the corolla as a rolling shell and I'd put in all the necessary parts from the civic into the corolla.
Also I don't see this as any different than swapping a D15Z1 into an '88 Civic and or CRX..

have you seen the same test done with the corolla because i think the results would be the same or close to the same

I don't care what your driving if you get t-boned like that in any kind of smaller car your going to get f***ed up. Just boost your motor so you can haulass out of the way when you see a SUV gettin ready to t-bone you.
really i dont think the corolla is much safer...like what was said before, if you get hit by a truck, chances are its going to be the same outcome as the civic...its a waste of time if its just for safety
lol....
if ur going to swap an engine out with a different one, ur going to need to parts to make that engine run correctly.
corrolla, civic, dont matter... f.i. or carburetor, dont matter...
u take the corollas engine and ecu out. put in the b16 with the b16 ecu basically.
u dont run the b16 off the corolla ecu.
after u figure out how to mount it and get the axles hooked up and all the mechanical stuff figured out...
u wire up the motor to the proper ecu. hope that answers ur question...
all in all though, with all the extra money ur gonna spend getting everything to mount up and work properly u could probably buy another EG shell and just swap that motor over to it. peace of cake.

Ok how about this: What would be more difficult, putting an R16A1 engine matched with a VX transmission into a 1995 Civic or putting a D15Z1 + VX Transmission into a 1995 Toyota Corolla?
Would a swap between a Corolla and a Civic be more likely if I had a 100% functioning doner civic? I could take every relevant part from the civic and put it into the corolla, then would it be more feasible? The only thing I can think of right now is transmission and engine mounts, aside from that, what other problems should/would I experience if I went ahead with this project?
