Default Engine sometimes won't start

I have an 88 Civic that sometimes will not start for several attemps (any were from 2 to 15). However, after several attemps it will start without any problems and has never acted up while driving. The problem is worst in the summer or after I stop at a store(engine is hot). It has never happened in the morning. When this happens the engine check light comes on and the code says its the fuel injectors. I have checked the injectors any they have the correct resistance and are not shorted to ground. Any ideas on what it could be?

It is your ignitor, Symtoms include and are limited to: No start after driving, Intermittant stalling and no start until engine cools. No start period..

This is by far the most common problems on those civics. I have replaced tons of them, BTW I'm a mechanic. Oh yeah, I replaced mine last night on my EG after I was late for work yesterday when my car didnt want to start.

If you can hear your fuel pump coming on when you turn your key on then its not your main relay,

ECT sensor would never cause this kinda problem.

really?

it seemed to be only a hot starting issue - maybe i got that wrong.

but the ECT sensor can cuase starting problems my friend mechanic...

if teh ECT sensor is bad, and thinks a hot engine is cold - it will run a really rich mixture to help it out... flooding the warm engine and -> fuel lock in the manifold.

maybe it isnt a hot start problem, but if it is - check your ECT sensor.

anyways,

we'll see.

tink is right about the ECT. On a cold morning, PW could be as high as 60ms to help starting. And if the engine is warm, and the ECT shows cold, well....

But also check out the Main Relay....they are known to go bad with time and heat.
