Engine shut off during driving?
Hi guys,
New here so this may have been answered in the past. I have a 94 Honda accord auto. For no reason the car will just shut off during driving. Car will still turn over but not fire. IF I let the car sit overnight it fires up fine and runs for weeks on end until out of the blue it shuts off again. I have replaced the distributor and still have this same issue? Any ideas? ECU? Fuel Pump?
Thanks!

Could be ur fuel pump......Mine used to do it. If i let it sit for an hour or two it would run again....................next time it dose it, turn the key off, wait a sec, then turn it all the way forward without starting the car( where the battery lites and everything come on) u should be able to hear the hum of the fuel pump priming itself. It will hum for a couple seconds. If not, u probaly found ur problem..........

your main relay is wut tells your fuel pump to prime so if its not priming when u turn ur key to on it is not necessarily ur pump itself, check ur main relay first its gonna be alot easier to check than ur pump......mine went out on me about 7 months ago and it did the same thing-shut off while driving, let it sit tell engine is cool then itd start......g' luck
