I was driving home from school yesterday night as normal and I hear a thud sound followed by a engine knocking sound that increased with rpm. I pulled over and checked it out, I checked the oil and it is at the correct amount. I thought it might be a rod knock or a spun bearing. So I decided to drive it home the rest of the way (one mile) and by the time I got home the knock had completely stopped. By the way the engine is a sir2 b16. Has anybody experianced something like this and what was the outcome?

 

Nobody has ever had this problem?
