Default engine help - help the newbie

kinda sorta new to hondas. i knew enough before to get by, but now that I'm starting to really get into it i need to know more.

To cut to the point I had a b16a motor. a spun rod bearing turned disastrous and now i dont have a b16a anymore. 3 of my eagle rods were still good and my CP pistons were fine. so since I already had some of the most expensive things intact, instead of switching platforms and needing new parts, i decided to search for another b16a.

I found one, and now it's at the machine shop getting bored and degreased.

now the question is, besides the standard b16a stamp. how do you determine exactly what year it is and if its the USDM or JDM version of it. I was told if its true JDM the gaskets and everything are different. Is this true, what real differences are there, etc.

any help would be greatly appreciated. Also, eagle suggests that i use clivite cb1777p rod bearings. when I look them up it says these are for a b16a2 motor. will they still work in my b16a?
