Engine Fan Always Running
Hello, new to the forums, Im driving an '89 Accord LX sedan. Problem is the engine fan is constantly running when the car is on. I dont notice any performance problems, just that the fan is loud and always on. Had a mechanic look at it (actually a good guy that Ive taken all my cars to over the years) and he said that its probably some electrical bug that wouldnt be worth the money in labor to track down and that its not a life or death issue for the car. In the short run my concern is that its very loud and distracting from a quiet ride, the long run concern is that I will have to replace it sooner because of its constant use. The only thing Ive done to the car is install a cd player which was done by Best Buy, could they have crossed the wrong wires or something? I really cant remember if the fan was acting the same prior to the install. If anyone has any ideas I'd greatly appreciate them.
Thanks
Thanks
The engine temperature is usually always steady at a little under half way, so I dont think the engine is overheating. Ill do a check on the thermo switch. The guy that owned the car before me did install a remote start, and there is a switch under the steering wheel column that allows for tunring off the remote capability. Maybe I should uninstall the remote start?
Thanks
Thanks
it might be more trouble than its worth, but yea,the thermo. switch might be bad(which is located right on the thermostat housing),or it could be some kind of relay issue.
