my friends civic justy died. he said he was driving and it started to keep a crackling/ grinding sound (coming from the timing side of the engine , that is you guys drivers side, [the car is right hand drive] ) then it started to drive sluggish. he pulley over and he said it just died. he tried to start it and it wouldnt turn over, just clicked.
We towed it about a mile and a half and the rope broke, so we pushed it into a nearby gas station. When we started to push it, i heard something slip (into or out of place ) when i heard that i told him to try start it, now it started to turn over but with a wierd winding sound.

the car is a 93 civic with a D15B vtec, with an automatic transmission......
my guess is that something in the transmission, or the Torque convertor between the engine transmission.

any suggestions?
