I just bought a 99 2.3CL and I need to know how to find out the engine code. Can anyone tell me where on the block it's located?

u mean 3.2. well he 99 3.2 engine code is J32A1.

 

No it's a 2.3 the 3.2 wasn't around in 1999 it was the 3.0 or the 2.3 CL

 

i have a list of engine codes wit info bout. there is no 2.3. The f22b is the 97-99 CL engine. Its the 4cyl engine. if ur CL is a V6 it should have a J30A1 but im not sure i need more info.

The 99 CL did come with the 2.3. The code is F23A1 and it should be stamped right where the tranny meets the block.

 

o **** how did i miss that. yea i have a F23A4 and the stamped engine code is very visible u should find it right away.
