Engine Building and/or Tuning book(s)
Does anyone have any recommendations for books to read with respect to engine building and tuning? I'm looking for something above a beginnner level that will talk about things like theory, important engine related calculations, how to properly check, rebuild, and assemble all the intracate parts of an engine. I am also interested in a book pertaining to tuning engines based on manipulating fuel/ignition inputs.
Can anyone recommend any good books? They do not necessarily have to be geared towards Honda/Acura.

A good general book on engine building and machining is Engine Service AUTOMOTIVE MACHINING & ENGINE REPAIR by Gary Lewis. It covers the basic operation of an engine. Machining processes in general and machining processes as they specifically apply to automotive engines. It also covers complete disassembly and assembly of an engine, diagnosis, break-in, and building performance engines (the basics, it's not extremely in-depth).
It does not cover tuning of fuel injection/ignition like you would like but that is an entirely separate book.
The ISBN of the book is 0-9708911-2-1
You can get copies of it on amazon.com (I searched under 'gary lewis engine') but they don't seem to be the latest edition. The last edition was published in 2004 and is the most complete. The older ones are good too, though.
If you have trouble finding a copy, let me know. I am friends with the author and can ask him where to get a copy.

Scott - thanks, I will def look into this book, in addition to the Corky Bell one which I found everyone suggesting in archived threads.

Another good turbo-charger book is Forced Induction Performance Tuning by A. Graham Bell. It is a bit more in-depth than Corky's book and a lot of it focuses on imports (although the author is from New Zeland so they don't have the same models as the US - but same general engines). This book is for sure available at Amazon.com - checked.
I like Corky's book too (I own both) and would really suggest you read it first before moving on to A. Graham Bell's book.
