Default Engine Building

Could someone direct me to what books are read by the serious engine builders. I am looking to rebuild a D16z6, set up for turbocharging, and am interested in what information is taken as law as far as engine building goes. Any useful links would also be great. I am mechanically inclined, but this will end up being my first total engine build, and i want to make sure i take all the proper steps to making a safe, fast engine. Any information on engine building would be geratly appreciated, along with any tips or suggestions to make my life a little easier. Thanks again

The Performance Honda Builder's Handbook is a great book for basic and advanced theory.

Blah.. those books are out dated, and very missleading.

blah, all the books mentioned are for the "enthusiast" and the DIY guys. For a real "builder's" handbook read Automotive Engine Rebuilding (2nd Edition) by John Hughes ... It's quite expensive and uses domestic motors in its examples, but is full of useful information concerning engine blueprinting etc.

Go check out one of your local Barnes and Noble stores. Automotive section has got alot of manuals and books on blueprinting, tuning, prep, etc.
