Default Engine Build ???'s

I'm putting together my LS/vtec, and i noticed that the most of the inside of the thermostat housing and many of the nipples throughout the block are rusted. is there anyway to get rid of this?

Also, do i need a header gasket for dc 4-2-1? didnt get one from the guy i bought the header from, hope i dont need one.

also, will a gsr dc 4-2-1 bolt up to stock cat? guess im asking is the length correct or do i need to take it to muffler shop? thanks guys

Okay first off just to clear things up... The easiest way to get rust off is just to use a wire brush... After you've got it as clean as you can get it make sure to thoroughly clean it out with some break cleaner... It make take a couple times of brushing and rinsing but just get it as clean as you can get it... What do you mean by the "nipples throughout the block?"... As for the header, which gasket are you talking about? Where the header bolts up to the head (if so just use the stock one) or are you talking about where the A pipe meets the B pipe? (if so yes, you'll need the ring seals)... fu*kfaceC1EH2 said "bump for an EH2'er" so does that mean you have an EH? The only thing that header would bolt directly up to (without modification) is an Integra GSR... If it is on an EH you'll most likely have to modify and also find a spot for your oxygen sensor... Normally I just use LS/ITR headers for that reason alone... Just saves you the hassle of having to weld in a bung... Good Luck and let me know about that other stuff... Peace

EDITED: Because I didn't proofread and I hate when I spell stuff wrong, to me
