I've started using a mix of the green Fed-Mogul stuff, the red clevite stuff, and ARP moly. Nice and thick stuff. Mix in a bowl and apply with fingers. No brush, b/c the bristles might come off or break off into the engine. And, don't clog up the oil feed holes with assy lube.

A former Lingenfelter engine builder gave us that recipe.

use redline or just reg.motor oil.it is for initial start up only, and sense your motor uses oil there is no harm done.

this always works

j/k-ARP lube does the job just fine, you can order a pretty big jar from Summit or Jegs

Do NOT use with lithium based grease or lubes. Whiter Lithium doesnt breakdown in an oil circuit. The breakdown temp is well above the opperating temperature of our engines oil systems and will clog oil gallies, passages, and the pickup screen. The assembly lubes as mentioned earlier would be your best bet.

I use Redline assembly lube.

I used to use that CRC stuff in a tube. But I stopped in favor of the Redline junk.

I used Clevite 77 BearingGard for my assembly of the bottom end, ARP moly for cams and bolts.

Does anyone use some graphite compound for the rod bolts? I have seen this but no sure what is preferred.

I will be starting my first bottom-end build and need to get all the lube for a complete job. Recommendations, including there intended application?
