ENDYN... hype or hot?

so the custom pistons we use from Ross, arent Ross pistons anymore becuase we supplied our own custom specs and because they're different from off the shelf? maybe i should call them Drag_Racer_DRU pistons then huh...

Wow, you sure told me - oh wait, you just proved you know very little of the internal workings of a combustion chamber, and what different dome shapes can offer to increase efficiency and performance. Way to go champ.

oh really now? and how did that prove anything... you're just talking non-sense
get off larry's nutts, you think hes the only one that knows how to build a motor?

If you supply a piston company with your own dome design and configuration, skirt profiles, material selection, weights, ring packages and a HUGE chunk of cash they will mass produce your pistons for you. Its called private Labeling.

I was not aware that endyn has built any motors. Endyn has however built many many engines.
larry also does full custom machining to each of the custom spec'd blanks that wiesco forges for endyn.
In the condition that wiesco sends them, they are not able to be installed, they are just blanks.
The shape of the piston and the angles leading off the squish/quench pads in the head are crucial to performance. That comprimise with the valve recesses VS volume for compression is also a key part. The face of the pisons also has effects on how the flame wave propagates, and what sort of turbulance is caused on the intake stroke. Having the bulge for compression forceing the mix close to the exaust valves also enables higher compression ratios with less knock and less need for radical timing advances as RPM increases. He also has much to do with the alloy choice of the piston depending on the application.
To answer the original question of this thread, i think it would be tough to find anybody who knows there stuff like larry does.

Thank you.
I cant accept that however. I am just a student working to understand a mere 1% of what happens behind those Al and Fe walls we call an engine. Larry knows so much more than i do, it is a very very humbleing experience everytime we converse.
There is a reason that factory teams like Toyota and Ford and many others seek his help when they have there name on the line.
Personally, i do not know how the guy is able to put up with talking to people like myself and others who are just in the vaugest stages of understanding what happens in an engine. If I were him, i would tell everybody to hang-up and call back after about 30 more years of researching in the real world, not just HT threads.

Endyn helped our race car go our fastest mph ever. 9.3 @ 160mph. I know Larry on a personal basis and regardless of what people say about him, I know exactly who he is. There is very few people who have the mind he does. Even the top head porters give him respect, like Brad at RLZ and Dave Localio of Head Games.
I have yet to see anyone build engines the way he does. Everything he does is right on the money. Its amazing to see him work and I've learned so much from him. I can talk because I work with him on a daily basis and the stuff I read about him I dont know where people come up with those things. I have 1st hand knoweledge who he is and I stand by his work and word.
Look for some good things coming from Endyn in 2004.....

Unfortunately as a biz owner it is very obvious to me that it can take a lifetime to gain a favorable reputation, and w/the internet days to ruin it by hearsay rumors and flat out lies by people who either don't know the true story or are competing biz's who can only gain customers by bad mouthing the others.I have never met or talked to Larry, but by reading his posts and surfing his site you can tell the amount of knowledge and exp he has attained. There are very few others w/his skills in the import scene and he should be given the respect he deserves.

I use Endyn pistons in my motor, and I'm very happy with them.
The fact that I spoke directly with Larry and he recommend which ones to go with was great, but then afterwards when they accidentally sent me the wrong length wrist pin (they changed the width and sent the old stock) he went the extra mile to make it right. We ended up just machining them here and he offered to pay for it, or send down a new set. All one-on-one customer service. I have nothing but respect for the way he conducted business.
I haven't had any of his head work done, but from at least my experience he stands by his products and work.

I have talked to many a speedshop owner, I have talked to many an aftermarket parts producer, and I have talked to Larry. If you cant delineate between them.....
