Default Electrical Load Detector Troubleshooting

Okay so I am having a code 20 thrown and 21.

I have a 92 Teg with a B16a and P28 ecu

Haynes manual says: "The ELD system detects excess amperage draw (load) on the electical circuits that govern the headlights, fuel injection, charging system, etc. The prime symptom of an electrical overload is a driveability problem, usually occuring when the engine is idling."

90-91 Integra's are OBD-0, 92-95 Integra's are OBD-1.
I read that one of these models do not have a ELD and one do now sinse my engine is different then the cars original engine. I am so confused
What steps do I need to take in order to check this

Loose wires grounds??
Alternator going bad ???
replace ELD???

I am looking for some people who ran into this problem and corrected it.

The research I did on other websites like hondaswap I get goo dinfo but idiots comment on top of it and pretty much confuse me to the point were the thread losses it authenticity

You have to disable the ELD in the rom image in the ecu. OR if you can find a P61 that came out of the 92-93 integra GSR, which doesn't look for the ELD in the ecu.

None of the free ware softwares disable the ELD function properly. So your best bet IMO is to find either a chipped PR4 that has been converted to vtec OR a chipped P61 ecu and use that as they both have the ELD disabled via jumpers in the ecu.

That should correct your ELD problems.

Yes. Switching to the proper ecu or proper basecode will fix the code and your idle problems.

I was just confused because the car ran fine with my p28. And then I pull into port and I have idle problems then a week later the cel code throws up. I was asking why all of sudden now it throws the code when I needed a different ECU the whole time. Can anybody explain this besides just get a new ECU. I am a shooter, I like to learn why things happen then to just fix the problem.

Are p61 ecu hard to find? or PR4.
Why cant I take my P28 and disable the ELD with a different chip.
Any credible places to get my new ECU chipped?

Just asking so I can get everything squared away before I pull back into port and know exactly what to do and were to go.

I don't know what was causing your problem, but you might want to check out www.hrtuning.com or www.xenocron.com

xenocron has all different sorts of ECUs that you can mix and match with whatever piggyback/chipping hardware you want to run. If you have questions, call xenocron, they are very knowledgeable, and friendly. Just be persistent, he fogot to call me back several times, but he is a cool cat.

I used their Neptune RTP with P28 package. I had an ELD MIL when I did the OBD 1 conversion. I went into paramaters and disabled ELD. No more check engine light. Make sure you get your car tuned after installing this unless you plan on running the base map. It comes preloaded with all the Honda base maps (p28, p72, pr4, etc.) It is very user friendly, and the guy who runs hrtuning.com always replies to your posts in his support formum within like 2 minutes. He is awesome.
