Electric window issue
hello!
so my passenger window decided to stop working the other day. (had a feeling it was coming since the window would go up slow and even slower on colder days) and it is now stuck half way down. i didnt hear the motor running so i figured must be that, bought a new one and plugged it in before doing all the work to put it into the door, to no avail, dosnt work. so im thinking maybe the switch has gone...? but the drivers side switch dosnt work either...its about to down pour here...
is there a way a way to hand crank the electric window so i can at least have it stuck up rather than down???
thanks

The problem is either the switch or the connections in the door jamb.
As mentioned to get the window up supply power and ground directly to the motor, if that works the motor is not the problem.
If you have a 12V test light connect the ground clip to one of the lead in the plug for the motor, [switch side] and the probe to the other side, rock the switch for up and down, test light should light up in both directions, if no connect the test lights ground clip to a 12V+ source and probe mboth lead in the plug, test light should light up on both leads, [ign. does not need to be on and the switch does not need to be rocked] the power window system is a "ground at rest polarity reversing system" so both lead should show ground when not rocking switch.
If both leads show a ground, move ground clip to a ground point and test each lead as you rock the switch, [ign. switch must be on] one lead will light the test light when switch is rocked for up and the other when switch is rocked for down. 94
