My VSS in my jdm b18c is busted and I was wondering if all VSS are interchangeable? like from d-series to b-series etcc?? Also how about manual and auto?

Are they gear driven or what? say if I got one from another car with different gear ratios will this f up my speedo readings?

i have a b series ...i jus took the upper portion of the VSS from a h22 .
i doubt the mechanical was failing
from what i was ...the upper part of the VSS where the connector fits ..it is interchangeable .....it works for me

 

What do you mean you took only the upper part? As in not that little pin thing? I think thats called the drive link??
