Electrial Problems
Im having some problems and was hopeing that you guys can help, cause im completely lost.
The battery light in my 83 Nissan 720 4x4 truck came on the other day, but the truck was still starting and running fine.
I checked and found that my battery was over three years old so i thought that might be the problem and it needed to be replaced anyways so i got a new battery and put it in.... Promlem Solved..... OR NOT?!?!
Today, my batter light came on again, so i figured that its gotta be my alternator. Just then, i rev my truck up and the batter light gets brighter, then dims as the RPMs lower.... I think nothing of it... just needs a new alternator right.....? OR NOT?!?!?!
Being that im taking my break at work and its 9am and kinda chillie out, i reach over and turn the fan on my heater up, as i do that the battery light gets brighter, along with all of my dash lights, including the cluster, climate control, battery and oil pressure gauge.
I turn the fan down and it stops. Then i turn it back up and the same thing happens only it blows a fuse this time causeing the dash lights to go back to normal, the battery light turns off and the fan stops.
I look in the fuse panel and discover that the AC fuse is blown, i replace it with a new 20a fuse and turn the heater fan back on, and it works again. Things are running as normal...
After work i make a few trips around town, i stop at taco bell to get something to eat and i go get into my truck.... DEAD BATTERY!!! This battery isn't even 24 hours old and its dead (this is a good battery too, not some cheap crap.)
I push my truck and jump it, i drive home and as i using my turn signals the dash lights are dimming cause there is no power to run them....
WHAT IS GOING ON HERE?
