ELD, Do I really need it?

I have a 87 Crx and Im droping in a B16 (0BD0) and I was wondering if it already has it. or if it doesnt do I really need it?. I searched and it wasnt very helpful. I did find out that it stands for Electric Load Detector.

Honda usually builds that thing into the under-hood fusebox. If your B16 ECU is looking for a signal from an ELD, then you'll get a CEL without it.

Actually, ELD problems will cause a trouble code but no CEL.
