EK Sat nav unit
Hi all,
New to the site!
I'm from the U.K and own a JDM EK4 SiR which has a lot of factory fitted goodies such as the sat nav unit.
I know a lot of you guys in the states have done a sat nav transplant and was wondering if anyone could give me some help as these sat nav units are uber rare in the U.K, even more so than they are over ther with you guys.
Basically I was just wondering if anyone has managed to get all the menu writing etc in english?? Is there a part in the menu where you can change the language to english rather than Japanese?
I have Alpine U.K about 40 minutes up the road from me so I am going to see if they can help me source a U.K sat nav disc if there ever was one, but my main concern is to get the menu writing in english. I have the original Honda manual for the sat nav unit but as you'd expect, its all in japanese!
Any help would be appreciated!
Here is the sat nav system in question.

Cheers,
Az.

Also I've got another question whilst I'm here, I've heard that some of you have managed to hook up a dvd player to the sat nav screen. I've got a Kenwood dvd headunit which I tried to hook up to the screen today, I plugged in the RCA leads including the yellow video lead to the black control box which is located under the passenger seat, the picture did come up on the screen but was in black and white and was flickering up and down.
Any thoughts what could be causing this?

The factory NAV unit is designed to work only in Japan. I doubt you can change the Menu's to English, but you never know. Alpine did make the units, so if they are 40 min up the road, it would be worth the trip.
As far as video goes, people have been able to wire in video, but it is definatly not a simple as you would think.

Cheers for that.
I've done some serious searching on the site to try and find out how people have got the video/dvd hooked up to it, could you possibly point me in the right direction as to who has done it cos I'm having no luck!
Cheers for ya help.
Oh and hatch96y7- Here is the sat nav unit taken in daylight.
