Default EGR system problem

My 99 prelude threw a MIL so i scanned it & got (P1491-EGR Valve Insufficient Lift) I cleaned out my egr valve which was pretty dirty, & thought that would be the end of it. I had never cleaned it & it didnt appear the previous owner did either. Otherwise the car is in top running condition with 65k miles. The light still comes back on when i clear the code. Do i need to replace the valve or could it be another part in the egr system? Any insight would be much appriciated.

(Please dont flame my post & tell me to use the search.)

i'm assuming you pushed down the plunger as far as it would go when you cleaned the valve. i'd also cclea out the egr routing downstream from the valve with a wire rifle brush. i'm not sure how the h22 is set up as far as the egr is concerned, but if you remember the odyssey recall from a few years ago, the soot build-up around the tube was crazy. make sure all of that stuff is cleaned out, and worst case scenario, replace the egr.
