Hi.. I have a 97 Acura 3.2TL with engine light on for EGR problem. I read some of the threads regarding this issue but I was wondering if someone could direct me to a site where I get more info on locating/fixing the problem. I am not much of a car nut but would really appreciate your help. Thanks

 

It may still be under warranty..I know my moms car (2000 V6 Accord) had a recall on these. Hers went bad and it was replaced for free.

 

there is a recall on that the egr gets clogged and the way it gets fixed is they re route the egr and clean the port so it dont clog anymore. take it to a acura dealer. and tell them that happens on the 98 cls also. call acura and tell them yrou problem. ive seen them done a few times cuz i work for acura.

 

bah! i hate clogged egrs! get a block off plate ;]

 

First, thank you everyone for your input its a wonderful feeling knowing that there are people like you who would take time to help newbie like me.

Anyway, I contacted my local Acura dearlership and they said the EGR has 50K warranty only and there is no recall on EGR port for my car year. I suppose that mean SOL for now.

Your TL does not have the EGR update. Your TL is the type2 V6 like the 95 Legend V6's.
