ECU's?
Uhhh well, Auto ECU's (esp. the OBD-I) ones have provisions for parts that only an automatic transmission has. I know because when I tried to use an auto p28 with my M/T CRX I got codes. So if you have an auto, get an auto ECU.
No it wont work but you can convert auto to manual and vice versa..Look at http://www.zdyne.com ..Click on tech...
Quote: After identifying a ECU as from an automatic transmission car, it can be converted to a manual by adjusting the ECU's configuration jumpers (P28 Civic D16Z6 shown).

Most OBD1 chippers drop the correct program into the ECU and don't fiddle the jumpers when going from auto to manual.
You could probably limp the weak auto maps by shuffling resistors, as they are nothing more than hardware configuration jumpers, but the correct solution is the correct program for the engine.
In the case of the poster with the OBD2 ECU... unhm, good luck. Hondata is about the only person who touches those, and you could buy OBD1 P28 and conversion harness for less than they'd want and do your own auto to manual conversion.
