ecu quetion about when vtec kicks in. please help !
i have a integra gsr rebulit to run all motor. now i need to figure out when the vtec kicks in and when redline is. i need help on firguring when these to parts kicks in and stops please help. my head is fully rebuilt. block is high compression.
depending on the duration and lift of your cams will depend on when you should have the v-tec crossover as well as redline, If you have a high lift cam and you have the crossover to soon or too late you would get the full potential of your cams. I would strap it to a dyno and go from there.
you can use the stock p72, however I would drive it like a grandma and dont take it past 3500 rpm or so. After about 500 miles strap it to a dyno and beat the living hell out of it!!!
thats what I did for my old Ls-V build. It worked out perfect!!

I just passed the 500 mile mark on my rebuilt Mini me!
Good times. Good times.
Baby it, then change the oil at 500, and then you're good to go. Using the stock ECU is fine until you can get it tuned. Won't hurt a thing.
