Default ECU??? P28 vs. P72

Is there some sort of advantage when using the P28 instead of the P72. My buddy said the P28 is better for the B18C1, but he failed to explain why. I'm just curious, and yes I searched.

If you still have the GSR intake manifold with IAB then you need a P72. Otherwise a P28 is fine.

He probably does not understand the differences, so he is a bad source of information.

Both ECUs can be chipped and tuned. The P72 adds support for the Knock sensor and IAB control. The P28 will not run the B18C properly without modification.

A P28 is a common favorite because it will run SOHC and DOHC motors. VTEC and non-VTEC. It is usally "socketed" and people run custom chips for their particular needs.
