ecu female pins?
I removed my ECU and one of the male pins on the ECU slid out of place as I unpluged the harness, at the time I was in a hurry and used my car key to slide the ECU pin back into place. My question is this, how is the pin mounted in the ECU, soldered in? I hope I did not break my p13 ECU. This was a week ago and the car ran perfect until today. I am now throwing a code 23/knock sensor. I was in a rush and didn't have time to figure out which pin had slid out of place so I have no idea if the pin sliding out of place is related to my code 23 CEL. Thanks in advance for any help.
the connector is formed from the factory, it's soldered to the PC board, but that's straight up and down and will not cause this problem.
if the pin is not broken then you should be able to push it back into place and glue it to the rear of the connector to hold it in place.
If the pin is damaged then the entire connector will likely have to be replaced.
Find someone in your area that can solder really well and ask them to help.
The connector is not that expensive but is a pain to pull out if you don't have the right equipment and skills.
