ECU CODE: 45System Too Rich or Too Lean
My CEL lit up, so I checked the ecu and I got code 45. This happened after changing my intake/header. I went from a AEM CAI to the COMPTECH SRI, and stock headers to 421 DC Sports. I still have a Tanabae exhaust, dont know what cause it came with the car but I don't know if that'll matter since I did not touch it. It also came on after a 'fun' ride on the freeway. My light came on the first time, tried SEAFOAM in my gas. That didnt work so what else is next? My car smells different than it did before changing the intake and headers but it's not really bad, but the scent change is noticeable. Help! Spark plugs? Fuel Injector lines? Thanks in advance.

This is what the Acura repair manual have to say.
P0171(45)
- System Too Lean Fuel supply system
- Primary HO2S (Sensor I)
- MAP sensor
- Contaminated fuel
- Valve clearance
- Exhaust leakage
P0172 (45)
- System Too Rich Fuel supply system
- Primary HO2S (Sensor 1)
- MAP sensor
- Contaminated fuel
- Valve clearance
This is what they recommend, have access to a scan tool that has freeze frame data compatibility.

Thank you very much. I guess the first think to check would be if I had an exhaust leak... BUT, since it came on after changing my I/E.. I don't think there will be a leak. SO... the next best thing to replace is the O2 and MAP sensor. What exactly does it mean by contaminated fuel?
