Default Ecu/Cam question

I herd what ecu u use it has to be for a certian cam or cams... Like my setup im about to have in my car... i have a 99b16 head and if i put that on my gsr block with the stock b16 cams what ecu should i use its obd1.. And what if i put type r cams in it then what? thanks alot to whover takes the time to respond.

I'd say a p30 or chipped p28. Tell Kenji or Katman your setup and they can chip a ECU to work best with your setup be it with Type R cams or stock ones.

for the OBDI ecus:
USMD P72 with a VAFC works very well
chipped P30/P61/P28/P08/P91 all will work.

keep the vtec @ around 5.1-5.4k rpm and rev limit around 8.3-8.6k rpm with the ITR cams

as far as program recommendations for city/street use milder programs such as J's/Jun and Superchips. for racing Skunk2/Mugen/Feels all will work very well (they run rather too rich for daily driven car).

thanks guys.. Oh i was wondering talking about changing the vtec point... Like i know you canhear it faintley at 4400 and roars at 6k i my girls type r. So are you saying change the intake cam vtec point.
