Default Dyno #'s- Tuner guy's NEED HELP!

I dyno'ed my the other day and "WTF", what going on. . . why is there a dip like that in my powerband? the swap has 40,000 miles on it. . . .

Set-up:

B16 bottom-end (rebiult)
GSR head (rebiult)
GSR cams
Skunk2 manifold
DPR H22 over-bore throttle-body 65mm
AEM ITR cold air
P30 ECU
GSR tranny w/ITR LSD

The runs 14'5's at like 98mph. Do I just need Hondata to tune it or what?

It looks like something happens at 4300 rpm. Is that your VTEC crossover? If it is it might be too low and cause your engine to bog. It's weird that your hp curve climbs pretty straight, but your torque curve is all over the place.

well first off it doesnt look like ythe setup the dyno to read torque right or maybe your torque curvie is just wierd but anyways. Yes you need to get hondata or V-afc to tune that ish and you will pull lots mroe power and get rid of that dip

I would definetly consider purchasing a hondata. I hope you have someone out there that can tune it. anyway good luck

I'd start off buy purchasing a header...

Not according to that dyno plot! Looks like it is activating at 4500...might want to check it again .

It'd be a lot more productive discussion if you had a/f readings plotted along the RPM axis.

There's no point IMO to getting a chipped Honda ECU when the engine is so far away from anything Honda builds, just get a standalone to tune it properly. My guess is that the ECU has the entirely wrong fuel curve.

I second that, purchase a good header and a chipped P28 from Kenji, with a afc,fpr and go back to the dyno.

I also forgot to ask if you have cam gears, this will help also.

I'm sure you need more fuel than stock. Do you at least have an adjustable FPR? Without the a/f curve it's harder to tell what it is.

there are stock like programs which will extract few more horses from the motor while maintaing driveablilty. I personally dynoed tested few and they came up above the stock P30/P72 counter parts.

as far as his dyno plot, it looks like a P72 ecu running in a B16A.

Sounds right to me.

i think you should pick up a fuel pressure regulator first, then buy a header and redyno the car. wouldn't hurt to have a hondata but a vafc is fine. for the price of the vafc though, i'd rather buy the hondata.
