Default Dyno HP question

Hey guys, i got a question. I got my car dyno'ed last weekend at ATP. My car put 180Hp to the wheels, and i have a 2002 Acura RSX Type-S. The only performance mods i have at the moment is an AEM SRI. I was reading the new Import Tuner and they had an artical about a stock RSX-S and dyno results using DC Sports products. Their stock RSX put out 163.2HP. Header=165.2, header/exhaust=171.1, I/E/H=184.9HP. I am just curious how my car, same engine but with just a intake can make this much power? Do some engines put out more then others of the same car? Makes me think if that maybe their dyno machine was off or something? Not that i am upset that my engine squeezes out 180.3HP to the wheels. Any input would help, and thanks in advance.

Depends on amount of correction and smoothing from the dyno software, and also the type of dyno.

Using WinPEP (Dynojet software) I can find an extra 20hp by playing with the smoothing, although it doesn't make things accurate, nor a good basis to tune from.

but 180hp at the wheels is pretty impressive for a mostly stock car. Good job.

So you're the guy who pulled 180wHP

I heard people saying that your graph was weird at the end. Like a fluke or something. It just jumped up then went down real quick at the very end.

Wasn't your other 2 dyno's 17xwHP or somethin? Either way. Nice pulls bro.

This was at ATP? Damn. I was suppose to go that day too...

Some engines do put out more power than others. But usually the range between high and low is not this great. Different dynos also affect results. Chances are you would not get the same results if you dynoed your car on a Dynojet, a Dynapack hub dyno, and a Clayton dyno. Some dynos tend to have more conservative results than others. And factors such as temperature compensation can also make a difference.

Yeah that was me that hit 180whp. Nothing was out of the ordinary at the end of the runs. I would post a pic, but i cant host them anywhere. My first run was 180.3, the second was 175.9, and the 3rd was 175.5hp.
