Default Dying motor ...

Ever since i got my EK9, i have experienced the car having extremely low idling (<500rpm) on certrain days. Recently, while starting the engine, the check engine light came on. The car would then suddenly just die off while idling or when in btw shifts. The idling would just suddenly plunge and the car will die off.

I am currently using a set of Stage 3 Crower cams with the valvesprings, retainers and JUN sprockets. No other mods yet. Anyone can help here?

BTW, i noticed that certain hoses on the intake manifold has been plugged up by the previous owner. Could it have been the cause?

adjust your idle and timing. Also make sure the valve lash is set correctly for those cams.

Would adjusting the idling be solving the effect but not the root cause? I am wondering whether it could be a vacuum leak causing my problem. There are two places that was plugged up by the previous owner which was not done to my engine. 1 is at the top of throttlebody with a short metal tube that bends upwards. The other one is at the intake manifold, facing the firewall, opp the outlet where u plug the FPR hose.

I will be taking out my Crowers. I am intending to race in the showroom class in my country and the idling will give me away.
