Driving without my knock sensor wierd ????????
When i swaped my b18c into my eg hatch. We wired only the Vtec pressure switch, and solinoid. I have been driving without my knock senser wierd for 2 months. Dose this have any effect on the performence of the car ?????
My check engine light would turn on sometimes, and during this time i would lose power at low rpms.

Which ECU are you using? if it's a P28 or something similar, the easiest thing to do is to get the ECU chipped with a program that has the knock sensor disabled.
you can bypass the knock sensor by grounding that wire. just use high octane gas alll the time, because now the computer cant protect you by retarding the timing when a knock occurs.

im having a similar problem, would the quoted suggestion be an ok thing to do? need second opinion

Depends, as does everything. What gas do you run, what motor is it, how is it tuned? What timing are you running, how hard do you run it, under what conditions? For a stock motor, stock cams, compression, timing running on 93 octane, not a big deal. The further from that you go, the bigger chance the sensor is needed. You also need to know what knock sounds like and back off the gas if you hear it. The knock sensor is mostly just in case and does not come into play under normal driving conditions. If the motor is leaned on and you run it hard in hot weather, the sensor will save much more in parts than it costs. If you choose to bypass it, remember that Honda put it there to save us from our own stupidity.
ya probibly good advice, i think im gonna just check the wiring then the sensor, and try to keep it all intact. im running REALLY rich and the light comes on no matter what boost levels im running, so i think its a malfunction.
