Driving with FPR disconnected dangerous?
I'm running a B17A in a 1991 CRX Si with the stock fuel pump and D16A6 injectors. My engine feels like it bogs a bit at higher rpms (like 4000-redline). It still goes, it just feels like there is less power than there should be, especially considering that it is supposed to be making more power the higher you go. Since air and spark seem to be just fine, I'm thinking the problem might be fuel pressure. Since I don't have access to a fuel pressure gauge, I am wondering if I can disconnect vacuum to the FPR (which should boost fuel pressure) and take it for a short test drive around the neighborhood just to see if I feel an obvious improvement. Assuming that is the problem it should feel better, but if that isn't the problem would running rich for a short time cause any damage to the engine?
going without the vac line hooked up will basically make the FPR behave as if you
were at wide open throttle all the time. full throttle operation should be the same
but partial throttle and idle will probably be worse.
FYI, pretty much all d and b-series injectors are the same 240cc. You do want
to make sure you have the correct FPR though as honda varies pressure in order
to affect flow rate rather than using different size injectors.

That sounds like a busted FPR...
