Default Driving at 6K rpm's.

Is it hard on the car to drive around at 5-6k rpm's (it's a b16). Is there a possibility of doing any damage to the car by staying in 2nd gear and driving like that?

you would be putting a lot of stress on the motor. why would you want to cruise around with the motor reving up that high.

My reason for this is because my tranny is slipping going into 3rd gear and I can't afford to repair it at the this time, just wondering it is ok to drive around town in 2nd gear. I still take it easy and try to keep the rpm's around 4K when I can.

It's an automatic, I don't think I can do that.
