on my fullbuild y8, one of my WEB double valve springs broke, the outer one...so i towed it home, pulled the head, and everything is golden...no piston to valve, nothing that i can see. whew! BUT...this is my question; should I replace the springs (inner and outer) for that one valve, or should I go with another brand for all 16 valves? they were pricey, so just dumpin' them would suck $-wise, but im honestly shook of their integrity now...SHOULD I SEE IF WEB WILL SOMEHOW COMPENSATE ME SO I CAN GET ANTOHER BRAND? what would yous do?
I'd check out the warranty first, see if they'll compensate or replace the product. If that does'nt work out then i'd dump em like a hot potato. I've seen broken JUN cams before so it's most probably a just freak thing. What were you doing at the time........?

sad thing is, i was just driving @ 3k rpm...nothing out of the ordinary, had not hit 8500 rpm in a few days...im sying when one valve spring breaks in 7k miles, im def sketched about the other 15 (30 if you consider they are dubble)
Well, you have obviously lost all faith in the product ( And i don't blame you). Just try to get them to compensate you , then replace them with something else.....
Web springs are bad ***. I rev to 10,000rpm on them in my race car. Are you sure the install was done correct? It would have to of been a freak accident other wise because I know plenty of people putting a ton of abuse on them.

crower's springs are eibach springs...in my opinion, no better spring manufacturer...ferrea is dope too but crower is top notch and 260$ for the best ti retainers and springs is decent in my book.
Whats up builthatch
I've seen that happen on Porsche's before. Its not common but it is possible. I would just replace both springs on that valve. I couldnt justify buying a whole new set just for one broken spring.

YO RYAN! eh, i ended up installing the crower kit and am selling the webs and ti retainers...im too shook from that one breaking. started it up last nite and am very pleased, 275+ across the board, i changed the head gasket cuz i'd a small leak in # 4 anyway before the spring broke.
ROCKET, im running a clutchmasters alum. flywheel and a web camshaft, soon to be crower stage3, i want to crack 170 whp.

I suspected a light flywheel. What are the specs on the Web cam?
Engine rotation is more "jerky" with a lighter flywheel and will put more instaneous accelearation on the springs so even though you didn't run mad rpm your springs are still experiencing alot of shock.
