Im using a GSR transmission and at around 85-90 MPH my RPms are pegged at 4500-ish RPMS...**** it sucks! The B16A/ITR tranny is even closer...the RPms must be around 5000!

How can you guys stand it...feels like Im about to break the sound barrier..and my exhaust isnt even that loud!

 

How come you have higher rpm at 80mph than the ITR owners? Last time I checked, 80mph gave me 4200rpm on my stock rpm gauge. Maybe you lucked out and got an ITR tranny.

 

How can I stand it? Hell, I look forward to it.

 

At 80 MPH its not higher then 4200...at 90 MPH it is.

Yeah, we look forward to it. Can't wait to get JDM 4.785 FD in the tranny... 5000rpm here I come.

PS, if you hate the high rpm, swap in a LS 5th gear. (Or, run 205/55/15's)

 

I probably should have kept the LS 5th gear when I had the LS tranny rebuilt with GSR internals. Oh well.

I think what it really is - is the fact that Im kinda uneasy about spending alot of time at 4500 RPMs...damn stock bottom end B20.

I'm gonna have to agree with everyone else; anything above 4K RPM is music to my ears.

i now carry a pair of earphones....like the ones you would use when shooting your gun....since i got my tanabe on....it's loud....worse than my 90 si borsal exhause!

It's one thing I don't miss about my old R... Glad I have a 6th gear now!

Hehe. I love cruising at ~4krpm. What I hate is when I cruise at 90mph and its at 4500 and going in and out of vtec and my little light comes on out of the corner of my eye.
