Icon6 dohc cam gear settings discussion

Just wondering what others are running as cam gear settings on there dohc engines, weather there engine is turbo or naturally aspired. I am and know others who are interested in these settings and how there very in forced induction applications.

I just popped the hood on mine and I am running on exhaust cam retard 3 1/2 degs and advanced 2 1/2 degs on the intake. I am running rite now upgraded fuel system. Msd ignition, aem cold air, DC header. Borla 3" and sst Borla muffler, Etc....

Every setup will be slightly different. If your head or block has been decked that changes things. Every aftermarket cam is different also. Best way to set them up is by degreeing them to the cam card specs before putting in the engine.

not sure what there is to discuss. degree settings are so different there's no 1 correct setting for everyone. only way to find out what works best for you is on the dyno.

If everyone's settings were the same it would not be much fun to discuss these settings. Yes dyno runs are the only way to find your settings and this thread should not be used in place of a dyno, maybe a baseline to start with at very most. If you would like to share your settings im open to discussion on this subject and why they work for your setup.

This thread is pointless. Settings are made because they work. Period. They are different because no two setups are the same. Too many variables. Go talk to your local tuner if you need insight.
