Default does displacement affect smog?

I'm looking to increase from a 1.6 to a 1.8 through a bore and sleeve.

my question is with everything else stock and all smog **** hooked up, can the sniffer or techs know or fail you for having a higher displacement than the car came with???

It probably won't cause it to fail if tuning is correct and feedback is working.

Displacement affecting smog? Nope.

Emissions are measured in parts per million (PPM). More total exhaust, same ratio of pollutants to air, same readings.

Its because of this that emissions readings can be lowered simply by pumping air into the exhaust with a smog pump, whether or not the cat needs it (modern cats don't need added oxygen as they break down NOx to get it, older ones did need added air).
