Does a D15B2 engine have LMA's?
Ive just bought a '94 EG civic with a d15b2. I got it cheap due to bad knocking noise, the seller reckoned main bearings had gone after searching on here im leaning towards rod knock or bad LMA's (if this motor has them?!?). I was going to do an engine swap regardless but if I get this engine running ok it will be good for a while. How can I test for a bad LMA?
Also on a side note, can I fit a different d15 engine in this chassis using the same running gear? d15z6 maybe?
Much appreciated

The D15B2 does not have LMA's. LMA's are only used on VTEC heads. You can use a D15B7, D15Z1, or any other D16 motor that you want to run. All will bolt up to your existing transmission.
I have a noisey head and after reading here thought it would be a faulty/stuck LMA.
Any other idea's? Im about to pull the plug leads one by one to test for rod knocking
Cheers

I did a valve adjustment yeah, I did a compression check also and that was alright too. Ive now taken the head off and found I could push the number 3 piston down a fraction with a screwdriver and it made a knocking noise as I did so. Ive started taking the oil pan off to have a deeper look. It looks like im gonna have to go with another engine as I need this car working in the few days. Is this sounding like rod knocking? It is hard to rotate the crank by hand when the 2 middle pistons are moving upward if that helps.
Is there any other engine that will bolt straight in the EG chassis using the same running gear that I have for the D15B2?
Cheers
