im planning to get a R-1 upper strut. does it matter of the brand? (i can get it for 20)

 

I don't think it's so much the brand that matters, but the design. The pivotless bars are much better. For $20 why not? If you don't think it made an improvement then just get a better one.

 

it all really depends on the style or the way the strut bar is made but i got a strut bar off of e-bay for about $25.00 or $30.00 shipping was included and it drastically improved my road handling performance. I'd try it... its only $20.00 and if it doesn't work then find a better one. You might be able to find a brand new one on e-bay for real cheap like i did.

 

the nuespeed design is said to supress not only tension and compression but also torision..

most people I have heard would only get nuespeed.

They bolt directly to the strut tower with not linkages in between..

 

I don't think that any brand is better than the other in this category. Its just what you prefer. Some are stiffer than others and some give a little more. It just depends on your preference in ride quality. Ractive makes a nice strut bar, even though I wouldn't buy anything else from them.

 

im getting the Type-R Titanium.. for $20

 

if is doesnt matter what kind of strut bars to get, would this be a good option. b/c for $20 that would be a great upgrade. btw, im looking for a rear strut bar.

and Carbing.... not OEM, but WAY better than Neuspeed and what not...

 

okay I gave you a reply last night telling you that you should try it b/c its only $20.00.... I had a neuspeed strut bar which I absolutley hated... some people like them and swear by them which i have read from the posts since the last time i looked in on the responses you were getting...I am definetley not one of those people. But last night I talked to one of my good friends who has an Intergra GSR he says that at one point he had an R1 strut bar and although he has changed and moved on to bigger and better things with his GSR he said that the r1 titanium that he had was definetley worth the one or two $20.00 bills he paid for it. RACE ON MAN!

 

what do you guys think of the dc sports strut bar?

 

I have Neuspeed, and it totally made a difference in my handeling. My friend has a home made one and it has improved his handeling too, yeah maybe the neuspeed is better but my friend's does the job, it's only $20, I would get it and try it, if not sell it to someone who has no idea about anything for $75 and make a profit, hee hee

Dont buy this stuff. If you are going to go cheap on a strut bar at least get one that doesnt have any flex points.

 

what are flexpoints and how would they affect the handeling?

 

Get a OEM 94+GSR strut bar or a 99-00 Si strut bar.... they are 30 bucks at acura or honda..
