Default do you have to take off the IM when pulling the head?

it seems like everyone pulls the IM off, and even in the helms it says to....but why?

i dont see a specific reason to pull it off. im about to finish pulling the head tonight, and would like to konw first if i need to take off the IM or not.

nope, just make sure that everything is disconnected from the IM.... (all hoses, bracket that connects to the block, and wiring) .... You don't want anything catching when you pull the head off.

Exactly, I've never removed mine when removing my head. I think its simply to make the head removal slightly easier by not having something close the the firewall to bang up againt. Plus it'll weigh less if your manhandling it off. Leave it on.
