If they leak and oil enters the combustion chamber then it can lower the fuel octane. Yes to this example. If you mean from one brand to another are you going to make more power. Then no.

it can, as the oil is diluting your mixture.

the underlying cause of seal failure is usually valve guide clearance, just to note.

thanks for that info has helped alot as i beleive my valve stems are knackered as it smokes when it hits the vtec and the power has dropped but more now that i have replaced the distributor could this also cause me loss of power?? its a brand new one but for some reason i still get cel code 9 which im led to beleive has something to do with the dizzy??

the china made distributors are garbage. i would find a good used oem one.

thanks for that i shall have a a go i still have my old one so i will try combining the to to make a good one and see if this shifts the codes thanks

thanks for the input but its really hard trying to find one and on doing a little more research the place where i got my new dizzy from apparently have more sent sent back than accually work so i think this is definatly where my problem is
