do u need a different shim to put a type r lsd in a gsr???
the gsr and type r carriers are different, and i know the bearing thicknesses are different. 0.050 on each side. i will tell you this you cant use gsr bearings in an si trans. as far as needing a shim i would think you will. in the helms maunal it should tell you where and how much clearance you should have.
ITR shouldnt matter. i know for a fact the ring gear is different betwee the gsr and si. same teeth but different inner diameter. and the bearings i know for a fact are 0.050 thicker 0.100 total.
yeah... you'll need some shims cause all the tolarances are different. Check your Helms manual for the listing of the shims that you might need. HTH.
