Do I need this stuff or can I just forget about it....
2000 civic si, only engine part left that is from a civic is the head. Running AEM ems, external pump, sumped tank. Took this stuff out to install the sump and have tank cleaned. What is it all for and do i need it? Like say I were to do a fuel cell..I couldn't use this stuff anyway so can i just eliminate it? The charcoal can in the engine bay has been removed, i see no point in any of this stuff that is not going to be hooked up. Where can i draw the line on stuff that i don't need?

thats is OBD2 equipment. OBD2 requires a gas tank pressure sensor and such. If you rea running an aftermarket ECU, leave it out, its useless.
Yes, I am running AEM stand alone ecu. I figured that 80% of the obd2 stuff on the car won't need to be used anymore and the car is being done from bare body up so i don't want to put a bunch of stuff on that i don't need.
What do i do with the hole? I can't just block it off can I? I mean the tank still needs a vent correct?

I just sumped my tank not long ago and I have a 99 HB..when I dropped the tank and saw all that **** I was wowed..well we took it all out and welded a plate to cover the hole..then we used the small metal line that runs up to the filler tube and made a plate that bolts where the stock fuel pump was..we ran the -6an return in to the center and right next to it we put a 1/8 npt to 5/16 fitting and ran a fuel line (5/16 fuel hose) to the little line on the filler tube..no problems filling the tank and everything works great!
cool, so block off the hole left where this crap is at, and run tube from tank to metal line that goes to filler neck. I'm guessing that this tube will now be a vent for the tank if needed? Either way, thanks for confirming that i don't need all of this crap.
