i found out that my ignitor is out today, and i was wondering how and why it could have went out.

not only that but my check engine light stays on the whole time, i'm not sure why, does it have any to do with the ignitor? i tried getting the codes but it just stays on the whole time. i'm getting a whole new dizzy and was wondering if i would have more problems with check engine light..

The ignitor usually goes out because of heat, but it can also be damaged by the wrong wires going to the wrong places. The check engine light being on all the time is an indication that the ecu itself is bad. The two could be related....or have nothing at all to do with each other. More info?

 

yeah right when i installed my new deck, my car didn't start anymore, and now i found out that my distributor ignitor is gone. i checked my ecu and it seems fine.
