what would be the best dizzy cap and rotor for a D15B7?

 

OEM Honda. Unless you have some crazy arrangment of mods, the Honda distributor products usually work the best.

 

OEM it up, you CAN get rebuilt ones from autozone and advance and the like, but i do not recommend, so many horror stories bout the dist going bad

 

Thank you, i have a related question, the plug wires...what is this i keep hearing about these special plugs that hold charge until a certain point than give power to insure good spark delivery? do these make a diff?

just use oem wires...tested over and over to be the best

what are these horror stories? Just asking...

 

ya, im kinda curious too....did they 'splode?

 

They cause your flywheel to explode, ripping through your tranny and through the flywall. It will also cut your passenger-side seat causing it to decapitate you.

Terminals inside of the cap breaking. This happened to me once, 3AM driving home from my friends house. Freezing outside. As we were waiting for the light to turn green @ an intersection, the car suddenly dies, so we had to push it into a nearby parking lot. The next day I head over there, I checked EVERYTHING (almost), fuel, spark, cam timing, etc. We had it towed to a shop cuz I didn't know what the crap I was doing (looong time ago!) and all they did was put on a new cap and rotor. I felt like a moron.

Definitely use OEM Honda.

Thats pretty good incentive to not buy remn dizzy caps.

i dont believe that... is there any validity in that?

 

of course not. there is not way that could happen, it was a joke (as far as i know, lol) but inside components could break and ur car won t start, that is the truth of the matter

 

I hope that no one thought that I was serious. Just like shadow Templar said, I have heard of all kinds of things breaking in them. My distributor went out a while back and I purchased a 92-95 civic distributor to rebuild my h22a distributor. The shaft connected with the CYP sensor which I know is not supposed to happen.

have u ran the engine? did anything happen?

have u ran the engine? did anything happen?</TD></TR></TABLE> I didn't install it. I tested it with my hand before installing it and know that there wasn't supposed to be anything connecting. With it connecting it should run but break in a no time.

 

holy crap that sucks...of course, ive never trusted reman **** anyways, it always breaks. my dads engine just blew, and it was a reman made a year ago
