DIY Wideband O2 & Lambda meter
Check this out, its a DIY kit for a wideband O2 that can read in A/F or lambda.
They also just started selling fully assembled kits. Fully assembled, it looks like about $300 including O2 sensor. Way the hell cheaper than many others on the market. *cough* Motec *cough* From what I've gathered its reasonably accurate as well.
For those of you with the electrical knowledge (And about 10 hours of spare time on your hands) its closer to $220 if you build it yourself.
The O2 sensor they use is from a 92-95 Civic, so many of you may have it floating around your spare parts bins.
MrFatBooty and myself believe it to be the O2 sensor from a VX hatch, which would explain its accuracy. Part number is 36531-P07-003 in case anyone cares.
The web site is rather technical. Be warned.

Yep...my board just showed up on Monday...looks like I'll have it done....? and it shouldn't take 10 hours to solder everything up. It is the O2 sensor for the VX and the HX cars.

Please let me know when you get your's built. A friend and I went in on one - he, being the more electronics saavy, built it. However, it appears that we have a problem with it. The display reads 14.5:1 no matter what - free in the air, in the car, hot, cold, etc...
It would be nice to know if your's works, or if you have the same issue.
THanks,
-TJ

I haven't aquired a O2 sensor just yet...so I haven't been able to test it, go to the website and read through all of their troubleshooting, you might just find something. Also pull out a magnifying glass and look at all of your solder joints, you could have a bridge in there somewhere.

He just called me and reported that he has narrowed it down to the board. The 02 voltage fluxuates, but the output to the display does not....he's e-mailing Peter. He's also 99% sure it's not a solder bridge. I vote bassackwards component or a bad component.

"A typical OEM switching type O2 sensor will not work with this project. This
project requires a 2 cell wide band O2 sensor that was used on a lean burn
Honda Civic. It is available from Honda dealers, and from http://www.hparts.com.
Application/part number:

The generic NAPA equivalent may be cheaper, but may not be widely available:
